Drought-responsive miRNAs in plants: a review

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are known as single-stranded RNA molecule functional in all steps of plant life including growth, development, and stress responses. Plant genomes harbor hundreds miRNAs, which have diverse functions regulating numerous biological processes. After being first discovered plants by the year 2002, thousands miRNAs been identified so far. With help recent advances high-throughput sequencing technologies, genome transcriptome-wide screening specific conditions a variety has conducted. Among challenging that inversely affect plants, drought is one main factors limiting growth productivity worldwide. So far, drought-responsive uncovered particular plants. Moreover, characterizations some provide insights into their role regulatory mechanisms. This review summarizes most findings on miRNA-based regulation The study provides about response plant.
